Shanti Shanti Kaur Khalsa, PhD, C-IAYT
Executive Director

Shanti Shanti Kaur brings the ancient teachings of Kundalini Yoga into modern medicine as Founding Director of the Guru Ram Das Center for Medicine & Humanology. Under the guidance of Yogi Bhajan she developed and directs the IAYT accredited International Kundalini Yoga Therapy Professional Training.

A Kundalini Yoga teacher since 1971, Dr. Khalsa began to specialize in teaching Kundalini Yoga and Meditation to people with chronic or life threatening illness and their family members in 1986, under the direction of Yogi Bhajan.

She is a Certified Yoga Therapist, a Mentoring Lead Trainer for Levels 1 and 2 Kundalini Yoga teacher training, a Medical Family therapist, and a charter member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists.

Her Kundalini Yoga program for people living with HIV is featured in the book, Yoga as Medicine by Timothy McCall, MD, and her groundbreaking work as a Kundalini Yoga Therapist is featured in the book, Yoga Therapy and Integrative Medicine: Where Ancient Science Modern Medicine.

Daya Singh Khalsa is an entrepreneur, experienced senior executive and long time business developer of for profit and non-profit companies. He currently serves as the Director of Development for Prosperity Works; a not-for-profit organization that works with low income New Mexicans to help them acquire the assets that lead to prosperity. Daya co-founded Akal Security in 1980 which is one of the largest providers of protective forces to the US Government. He remained at Akal Security for 36 years under the direct guidance of Yogi Bhajan.  With a career focus on strategic planning, generating business growth, creative customer service, effective leadership and motivation of teams, he provides executive direction, support and resources to small and large organizations. He has served on the Guru Ram Das Center Board since 2005 and is married to Sat Nirmal Khalsa for more than 30 years and proud father to Hari Simran K. Khalsa.

   
Hari Simran Kaur

Hari Simran Khalsa, CAS

Hari Simran was born into a family of Kundalini Yogis and has been a student of Yogi Bhajan's since her early childhood. She was educated in India from KG through high school where she practiced the teachings of Yogi Bhajan, Kundalini yoga and yogic living on a daily basis. It was there that she was trained and received her Kundalini Yoga teacher's certification. Hari Simran went on to earn a Bachelors Degree in International Business from the College of Santa Fe and then further developed her experiences in India and her knowledge of Ayurvedic medicine at the California College of Ayurveda. She is currently practicing as a clinical ayurvedic specialist and healer in Santa Monica, CA.

Hari Simran’s Yoga classes are energetic, welcoming and inspiring. In each class she brings together the science of Yoga and Ayurveda as a complete system of healing. Students will experience the wisdom and power these teachings can bring to everyone in every stage of life.


Amrit Singh

Amrit Singh Khalsa, PhD

Amrit Singh is a lead trainer and currently working as the executive director for the Aquarian Teacher Training programs with KRI, the Kundalini Research Institute.

His PhD is in Aeronautical and Astronautical  engineering and he is the author of a book Conscious Business.  Amrit Singh became a Kundalini Yoga teacher in 1991 while an undergraduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  He worked several years for Yogi Tea in Oregon and then moved to Espanola, New Mexico where he worked in the business realm directly with Yogi Bhajan.  Ten years ago he moved to Los Angeles where he was both an executive with a natural foods company and a lead teacher trainer in several teacher trainings each year.

Amrit and his wife, Siri Dyal Kaur, have two children, ages 11 and 13 and they live in Europe.

   
Hari Charn Kaur

Hari Charn Kaur Khalsa

Hari Charn Kaur loves Kundalini Yoga and has been a student of Yogi Bhajan for over 45 years.   She had the blessing to study personally with Yogi Bhajan and to serve him as his reader in his classes in Espanola and loves sharing her stories and experiences of the Master.   She currently serves as the KRI Global Director of Professional Development and Outreach for the Aquarian Teacher Program. Hari Charn Kaur is works internationally with Kundalini Yoga Teacher Trainers to support the growth and expansion  Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan ®.   Her passion is practicing and teaching Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan®. She also is a founding member of the Hearts and Hands Organization that serves the Espanola Sangat.

   
Jai Dev Singh

Jai Dev Singh Khalsa, CAS

Jai Dev Singh is a yogi and Kundalini Yoga teacher.  His innovative Yoga and Ayurveda courses have been studied by thousands of people throughout the world. His flagship teachings include The Complete Course of Ayurveda, The Radiant Body Home Course, Unlocking the Life Force, The Sweetest Love, and The Life-Force Academy. Jai Dev Singh is a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist and previously served as the Clinical Director at the California College of Ayurveda, as well as the director of the college’s Pancha Karma Center. Jai Dev Singh is a partner at Floracopeia, Inc.

 

   
Sat Bir Singh

Sat Bir Singh Khalsa, Ph.D.

Sat Bir Singh received his doctorate in human physiology and neuroscience at the University of Toronto and has conducted research in neuroscience, biological rhythms, sleep and sleep disorders for over 30 years.

For over 10 years he has been fully engaged in basic and clinical research on the effectiveness of yoga and meditation practices in improving physical and psychological health. He has also been personally involved in the practice of a yoga lifestyle for over 40 years and is a certified Kundalini Yoga instructor. He is currently the Director of Research for the Kundalini Research Institute, Research Director of the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School in the Department of Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.

He has conducted clinical research trials evaluating a yoga treatment for insomnia funded by the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) of the National Institutes of Health. This research was targeted at examining not only the efficacy of yoga for the treatment of chronic insomnia, but also the neuroendocrine and neuropsychological mechanisms underlying the effectiveness of yoga practices in this population. He has also been involved in yoga research for addiction, back pain, depression, music performance anxiety, and generalized anxiety disorder.

Dr. Khalsa has established relationships with fellow yoga researchers in the U.S. as well as in Europe and in India. In India he routinely attends and presents at international yoga research conferences and in the U.S. he is actively working with the International Association of Yoga Therapists to promote research on yoga therapy. For over 6 years he has also been teaching an elective course at Harvard Medical School in Mind Body Medicine.    

   
Sat Siri Kaur

Sat Siri Kaur (Rachel Dougherty)

Sat Siri Kaur is a trailblazing, next generation Kundalini Yoga teacher and trainer. She travels the world teaching Kundalini Yoga (in places like Bali, Maui, Mexico and India) and opened the first Kundalini Yoga studio in Sydney, Australia. A former ballet dancer with the Australian Ballet, Sat Siri Kaur has been practicing Yoga and Meditation for over twenty years and teaching Kundalini Yoga for fourteen. She was blessed to complete her Kundalini Yoga teacher training under the guidance of Yogi Bhajan in 2003.  Sat Siri Kaur’s classes are open to all levels of practice - uplifting, challenging and healing at a very deep level. She has a unique ability to anchor the more esoteric qualities of this technology, bringing the tools into practical, everyday life. She believes it is everyone’s birthright to experience the peace, grace and blessings that awaken with daily Kundalini Yoga and meditation.  Sat Siri Kaur currently resides in Los Angeles with her exuberant daughter Prem Kaur, who is of course her greatest teacher.
